70^th Anniversary National Fire Fighter Challenge

For 70 years, Fire Fighters have been passionately helping Muscular Dystrophy Canada break down barriers for the neuromuscular community. In celebration, we’re calling on you to organize a unique fundraising event or activity within the next 70 days to help make an even bigger impact this year.

Get creative and have lots of fun! You could plan a tree climbing challenge, hot dog eating contest or even a head shaving challenge for everyone at your station or local. You’re only limited by your imagination!

To encourage friendly competition, winners will be announced on Fire Fighter Appreciation Day – September 27, 2024.

PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONS

The department/local in each province that raises the most money between July 1 and September 8 will receive the 70th Anniversary Provincial Champions trophy.

NATIONAL CHAMPIONS

The department/local that raises the most money in the country between July 1 and September 8 will receive the 70th Anniversary National Champions trophy.

PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD

Canadians will vote for the local/station they think hosted the most creative or unique fundraiser this summer and the victor will receive the People’s Choice Award.

How to get started…

• Get your colleagues together to brainstorm a fun and unique fundraiser.
• Register here, and set up your fundraising page. If you already have a Filltheboot page, you can use that page for your 70th Anniversary Challenge page.

Then…

• Promote your challenge with friends, on social media, through community boards etc.
• Be sure to post your fundraiser to social media using #FF70YearsChallenge to be entered in the running for the People’s Choice Award.
• You have until September 8, 2024 (70 days) to complete your fundraiser and be eligible for the trophies.
• From September 17-25, we’ll tally how much each team has raised and open up the polls so our entire community can vote on the most creative or unique fundraiser. So be sure to post pics or videos to social media using #FF70YearsChallenge so we can share them during the voting window.
• On September 27, Fire Fighter Appreciation Day we’ll announce the winners of each category.
