A note from our CEO

Welcome to the 2025 Walk & Roll for Muscular Dystrophy Canada! Thank you for joining us this year and for your commitment and dedication to breaking down barriers for Canadians affected by neuromuscular disorders. We are glad to have you as part of our community!

Thanks to the support of dedicated past Walk & Roll participants, we have been able to accomplish many great things together. In fact, 2024 was a record year for our community. From the advancements made in newborn screening (all babies born in Canada can now be tested for spinal muscular atrophy!) to the rise in clinical trials and systems navigation support for post-secondary students, 2024 was a year of great impact. And your participation in this year’s event can continue that impact.

Whether you are a returning participant or joining us for the first time, by registering for one (or more!) of this year’s in-person events, and fundraising, you will have a profound impact on the lives of thousands of Canadians. The funds you raise will support ground-breaking research, ensuring Canada is prepared to provide access to new life-changing treatments, while also filling the immediate need for advanced treatment and care options. Your fundraising ensures that when someone needs vital equipment to help live their best life - or even save their life - they won't have to struggle. Every dollar you raise helps Muscular Dystrophy Canada deliver a variety of targeted services for all kinds of people across Canada while also giving the neuromuscular community a voice and access to politicians and other key decision-makers who can address gaps in the healthcare system.

Not sure if the Walk & Roll is right for you? The Walk & Roll for Muscular Dystrophy Canada has something for everyone! More than a fundraiser, it is a fully accessible community event that is fun for families, friends and all community members! It is a chance to come together for a fun day out, while supporting the neuromuscular community, and helping to provide critical funds for Muscular Dystrophy Canada’s life-changing programs and services. Plus, with more than 30 event locations across the country to choose from (and the option to host your own event), there is no reason to miss out!

Thank you for your commitment to breaking down barriers for the neuromuscular community. I can’t wait to Walk and Roll with you this year!
