Our annual Neuromuscular Research Grant Program invests in projects related to diagnosing, treating, or providing clinical care for neuromuscular disorders. These grants aim to fill gaps in the existing funding landscape, enable researchers to build new and innovative research, and support proof-of-concept, feasibility, and pilot studies in preparation for larger-scale, longer-term grants from external sources. They also facilitate partnerships between researchers and patients.
This annual funding competition provides salary support for early-career scientists conducting postdoctoral studies in a laboratory focused on NMD research, and for early-career clinicians participating in a neuromuscular medicine and electromyography fellowship training program.
Occasionally, we run special funding competitions for specific needs. We will post details here when opportunities are available.
*Co-funded through our partnership with the Neuromuscular Disease Network for Canada (NMD4C)
Through our Experts by Experience program, we help researchers connect with people who have lived experience to inform and strengthen their work. If you’re looking to engage a patient partner, contact our research team for assistance.
The Canadian Neuromuscular Community of Practice makes it easy for healthcare professionals involved in neuromuscular care to learn together, exchange information, and broaden their overall knowledge of neuromuscular disorders. To get involved, register with us.
In partnership with the Neuromuscular Disease Network for Canada, we offer educational webinars to enhance the training of neuromuscular clinicians. These include our CPD-Accredited webinars offered through our #LetsTalkNMDs webinar series, as well as other webinars from different working groups.
