It takes a community to break down barriers. That’s why we’re grateful for the entrepreneurial spirit and creativity of our community members who choose to support Muscular Dystrophy Canada by organizing their own fundraising initiatives.
Giving back by getting creative
Every year, individuals and groups across the country amaze us with their creativity and initiative as they raise money to support us in their own way.
From bake sales to bike rides, golf tournaments, dances, auctions, and head-shaving challenges, there is no shortage of creative ways to mobilize your network of family and friends and have fun while giving back.
A legacy in motion
Jordan Freedman and Hartley Ruch created a cycling event called “Journey for Janice” in honour of Jordan’s mother, who passed away in 2012 from complications related to polymyositis. For the last nine years, the event has raised more than $200,000 and grown to nearly 90 riders.
