Help us break down barriers, so people in Canada’s neuromuscular community can access opportunities equal to their inner strength.

Fuel hope. Drive change.

We support over 27,000 people across the country who are affected by neuromuscular disorders (NMDs) — conditions that weaken muscles over time and make everyday tasks more difficult. They are often fatal.

The good news is that advances in treatment and care are improving quality of life and extending lives. But there’s still so much more to do1:

  • On average in Canada, it takes five years and three healthcare professionals before receiving a confirmed neuromuscular disorder diagnosis
  • 40% of our community members say they have difficulty finding the right doctors, specialists and clinics
  • 78% say they can’t afford equipment, assistive devices, repairs, physiotherapy, rehabilitation or home/vehicle modifications without funding support
  • 70% say they have difficulty accessing clinical trial and research opportunities

Through your support, you are helping to fund cutting-edge research and clinical trials; provide critical support services and equipment; and empower people with NMDs to shape policy and improve healthcare.
