Financial Assistance

An important part of fulfilling Muscular Dystrophy Canada’s mission is alleviating financial pressures for people with neuromuscular disorders and their families, and enabling Canadians with neuromuscular disorders to lead independent lives.

There are often extraordinary financial expenses, such as costly mobility equipment or assistive devices, attendant services, respite care, travel for medical appointments and home renovations.

    These grants help people living with a neuromuscular disorder in Northern Ontario to lead full and active lives by providing funds to assist with obtaining mobility equipment and assistive devices.

    Safeway Mobility Grant: Western Canada

    These grants are distributed to assist clients to obtain the equipment they need to be as independent as possible. Submit an application for funds for items such as assistive devices, home modifications and van modifications.

    Community Services Fund

    A percentage of funds raised by Chapter groups through local special events and activities are allotted to the Community Services Fund. This fund enables people affected by neuromuscular disorders to benefit from the hard work of fundraising efforts conducted in their own community.
