Buck 4 Luck

Shamrocks and people with a neuromuscular disorder have one thing in common.

Both have gene mutations. Over time, people with neuromuscular disorders may lose the ability to walk, speak and ultimately breathe. For some, the disorder is fatal. There is presently no cure or effective treatments.

We would like to sincerely thank everyone who participated in Muscular Dystrophy Canada’s 2014 Buck for Luck Campaign. Thanks to the hard work of our supporters and Lowes Home Improvement Warehouse staff across the country, over $119,000 was raised in this year’s campaign.

Your tremendous efforts go to a good and worthy cause, as funds raised through our Buck for Luck Campaign in Lowes stores help provide equipment funding for people with neuromuscular disorders. These funds will help purchase equipment which allows people to be independent, mobile and a part of their community. Your efforts and your commitment are greatly appreciated and we are extremely proud to have such dedicated supporters.

Thank you again for your support!

“Muscular Dystrophy Canada’s support has been tremendous—both emotionally and financially. We have been able to acquire life saving equipment with their help. Without this help, Van would be hospitalized for weeks at a time. With your support, Muscular Dystrophy Canada provides our family with real hope for the future—that someday, our child won’t struggle to breathe due to weak muscles and that he might feel the weight of his own body touch the ground as he takes his first steps.”
